Speaking: Social Media for Small Business

October 14, 2009 | 3:01 pm

Next week, along with our friends Rob Swick and Peter Sickles from AlphaSearch and Steve Lionais from ISL, I'll be presenting a talk entitled Social Media for Small Business. The talk will focus on practical ways of implementing blogging, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube into your overall marketing plan. This will be a more pragmatic talk than I normally give on social media and interface design and will focus on real techniques rather than the theory of these subjects.

The talks are being sponsored by Nova Scotia Economic and Rural Development. There's more information at this site, Nova Scotia Internet Marketing Seminars. The event coincides with Small Business Week.

The talks are happening in four rural Nova Scotia venues:

  • Monday, October 19th Baddeck, The Inverary Resort 8:30-3:00
  • Tuesday, October 20th Guysborough, Chedabucto Place Performance Centre 9:15-3:45
  • Wednesday, October 21st Amherst, Wandlyn Inn 8:30-3:00
  • Tuesday, October 27th Middleton, NSCC Campus 9:15-3:45

In addition to these four talks, Rob and I will be speaking in Yarmouth on Thursday October 22nd at the Rodd Grand Hotel at noon. This is being presented by CBDC Yarmouth.
